Left Spray Lake around 7:30 in the morning. Kieran was still packing up, but I am sure he would be catching up pretty quickly. The weather was prefect and I stopped a lot to take pics of the mountains.

Kieran passing me in the morning

My breakfast was a bit of a disaster. I was planning to do cold soaked oats, as I have at home, but somehow it didn’t turn out that well this morning. I blame it on the bland brown colored protein powder I added along with the musli, chai seeds, and a dry milk mix. It looked like diarrhea when I opened up the mixing container, and it didn’t taste much better either 🤢. So a Cliff bar would have to do instead.
There were plenty of “hike-a-bike” sections today, especially going over Elk Pass. The grade at one point was 28%, which is ridiculous to ride, especially a fully loaded down bike like mine. The loose rocky surface doesn’t help either.
A local rider had recommended a bike and hiker campground near Elk Lake, which was my goal.

A more successful meal solution, tortilla with Almond butter and Nutella

I wish I had brought bug spray!
